16 Jun 10 The Complete Watch – Eberhard

May 2010 saw the auction and sale of a rare 1941 Eberhard chronograph watch – complete with its original box and documentation. It even had a pink oversized dial with a matching pink cold case. The set realized a price of $18,242 – a bargain by today’s standards. The total set was just like new and in excellent condition. You can complete yourself with the purchase of a fine watch – or a fine Eberhard replica watch.

But you better hurry – something as fine as these replicas tend to sell out fast. A good example of this would be the HR “Eberhard & Co. Chrono 4”. This is not an exact copy of the rare 1941 model above (you would be hard pressed to find a copy of that) – but it does come with a pink dial and a “gold” case. No documents – unfortunately – and the box will cost you extra. But it does come with four sub-dials stretched across the face in a perfect line from 4 o’clock to 8 o’clock. It will definitely impress anybody who has ever seen the real thing.

Perhaps more impressive would be the Chrono 4 in “stainless steel” with a white dial and four stainless steel sub-dials. If you can get one of these – hang on to it as they are usually sold out. The same goes for the black dial version with all white sub-dials. All-black face dials (including the sub-dials) are sometimes available, too. Or it is possible to sometimes buy the black full dial with all white sub-dials. Each one of these is a fully functioning chronometer and a perpetual calendar. All come with a date window just below the 12 o’clock position. Brand name, “Chrono” and all markings are accurate. If you get an opportunity to buy one of these fine Eberhard replica watches, don’t miss your chance.
